crav’ems

master 11 x 17master 11 x 17

The assignment: create naming, branding, messaging and package design for a line of unique, crispy, healthy snack chips made from cassava – potato’s South American cousin. Make the product pop off the shelf, appealing to adults and kids alike. Communicate fun, flavor, and health benefits.

The result: Crav’Ems! Too bad these delectable snacks in the sassy packaging never saw the light of day, or the grocery shelf. We think consumers would have gone ape over them!

alternate eco

ecosana1Highland Labs, an Oregon-based vitamin supplement manufacturer, asked us to help them brand a new line of supplements highlighting the company’s commitment to sustainability. Called Ecosana, the new line featured not only the best ingredients possible, but recycled paper labels printed with soy inks, and a revolutionary bottle, made with plastic derived from corn—making it compostable! While it has not gone to market yet look for it to hit the stores in the future.

the outback at tamarack

untitled

We were asked to promote the opening of 5000 acres of back country skiing at Tamarack Resort. Steep, deep, virgin and ungroomed. The kind of skiing that usually requires a helicopter and guides, but at Tamarack it is available by skiing down the back side of the mountain, serviced by the main lift and snow cats. Our work included naming the area (The Outback at Tamarack), branding, and an ad campaign. Here is a variety of concepts we produced for the client’s review. The first one (above) actually won a Gold Addy from the American Ad Federation, even though the campaign never ran. As you can see, we had a lot of fun with this one!

united dairymen of idaho

bev_logoAs a rule we won’t do spec work. But every once in a while an opportunity comes along that makes us break the rules. We were invited by one of our strategic partners, Donahoe Pace, to be a part of the team to pitch the United Dairymen of Idaho. The client asked for one campaign, and we gave them three! We felt that the demographics for milk, cheese, and yogurt each deserved a targeted message rather than a blanket approach. We would have loved to work with United Dairymen of Idaho, but have no regrets about the ideas we presented. more »

logoevolution

Sometimes we put a great deal of thought and creativity into either pitching work or executing a concept, and it never ends up seeing the light of day. These gems, or “sleeping beauties”, hold a special place with us. We hope you enjoy them too!

We pitched this Vermont-based baking company with a multi-faceted campaign of innovative, thoughtful and well-executed concepts. We created everything from a refreshed brand identity, consumer ads and packaging, to an educational tour bus, product catalog, web redesign and a trade show booth. The objective was to create a campaign to launch a new product. We went a step further and recommended a whole new category of products: Special Request - Gluten-Free, DHA-added, low-fat, and Sugar-Free baking products and mixes.

In the end, the client chose to work with an east-coast firm, and we went back home with a portfolio with beautiful work!

Above is the logo evolution that takes into consideration the great deal of equity that already exists within their brand. Click “more” for a sampling of what we presented.
